This week's round-up!

Another week, another set of kits! I am loving making little journal/frame brushes lately. So fun to draw them!  I also scrapped Kenzie's Valentine photos from this past month. She was so proud of herself for writing all those names and then cutting out all the little chocolate bar wrappers. They were a big hit! I used the newest j99 cent journal/frame brush here and just stroked it with white and filled it in before adding it to my page. Super easy.  I also made a set of Animal brushes and tags this week. I think these are cute and will be fun to work with. I used the dog one on the page  from the post below.  You can find the journal/frame brushes here and here. And the Animal kit is here. If you use any of them send me a link. I love to see how people interpret them and add their own spin to my kits! I have been working on another project and I'll let you in on the details on March 1st. I am  super excited about this one. It just makes me happy!

It didn't take long...

for a Cocoa page! :)   He is really adjusting well to our little family. We'll see how it goes when I have to work for two days but we've got a baby gate for the kitchen, loads of toys, bones and a nice little crate with a doggie blanket so hopefully he'll be ok. Kenzie told me this morning that he's like a dog brother. She said, "Mom, we have 4 people in our family now. Two adults, 1 kid and 1 baby!"  He's so good with her and has loved meeting all of the Kindergarten kids. :)

Meet Cocoa

He's 4 months old and has stolen out hearts. We got him on Valentine's day. Mackenzie named him. She wanted to call him Chocolate at first as he is chocolate coloured so we discussed some chocolate type names and she picked Cocoa. I think it suits him! He's been doing so well with training too so that makes us happy and Kenzie is over the moon. She takes him everywhere. He's got such a wonderful manner too and doesn't mind at all. Right now he is 7 lbs and will most likely end up at about 15 lbs total. Tim has severe cat allergies so we wanted to get some sort of poodle  mix to cut down on the dander so this little cockapoo is perfect. Compared to my parent's American Eskimo white fluffball his shedding is pretty much non existent. Phew! My parents have been here all week as well and the two dogs took a little bit to adjust the first night but have been getting along so well since then. I think Polar feels like he's the "big" dog now. it's too cute. I'm looking forward to some Cocoa layouts in the future!

Onto new products: 

I had so much fun with these recipe card inspired frames and journal pieces. I think they'll go into my staples folder for sure! I love having a folder that I call staples that contains all my items that get used over and over again.

And then these brushes were so fun to draw! I love the little bit of whimsy they have :) Fun!

Ali's weekend creative

I loved this one and it was so fun to translate into digital :) I went right with the butterfly theme. I thought about birds but I love butterflies so I went with it. I think it was leftover butterfly loving from the previous layout! I drew up a butterfly in Illustrator and made it into a brush in PS. I then opened up a zillion papers that I have designed over the past two years and went to town. It was fun to go back over all of the designs and reminisce. I am thinking of having it printed at Shutterfly and then I am going to hang it in my guest room. Should be fun! I got three 12 X 12  frames for Christmas-perfect for layouts and projects. I made this other little art project this weekend using some brushes from trees/branches and then just added a little quote. I think another one of these would be perfect if they were flanking the butterfly print. I think I have convinced myself! Now just to order them :)

New Products

over at twopeas. I am also trying to work my way through a large stash of photos from the past two years that haven't been scrapped. Going through them reminded me of all the little events/holidays/daily tidbits that I haven't captured yet and I want to get cracking on them before my mommy brain loses those memories for good. I've been trying to go through my enormous files of digital photos. I mean does anyone really need 10,000 photos every year? Yes, I want to keep taking loads of pictures but the editing part is something I need to make more of a focus. Not just for the sake of my quickly filling up hard drive but for the sake of the sanity of Mackenzie as she gets older and her future family. At this rate, by the time she hits 20 she could have enough photos that it would take her a few days solid to show them to people. Not totally practical in my mind. But, with that said, I don't want to delete everything either. I'm trying to go through each time that I took out my camera for a shoot/event etc.. and narrow that day's photos down to the essential 20-30 and if possible 10-20. In the end, it's been kind of fun. And I have found so much that is waiting for me to scrap it. And with that here is a page from this week with photos from 2 years ago. I can't get over how much Kenzie has grown in just two short years. I think a comparison page from then to now is in order too as I really can't quite believe it. I mean, they say time flies all the time, but really, it does!

The glitter elements from the previous post's layout can be found in the next two glitterfied kits. I have been LOVING glitter lately. yes, I am slow to catch this train but I am glad I did. I love the sparkle! Glitterama can be found here and You've Been Framed here.

Lastly are two 99 cent specials. The little candy bar wrappers are fun! I bought some for Kenzie to take to school for her little buddies and they are small enough that 20 will fit nicely in her school bag. And a little date stamp. I am working on a book as well that has a page for each month from last year and this stamp has been perfect!

Another Digi Dare

I saw this one this week and new that I had to try it out. As you can see from my recent posts, I have fallen in love with crochet again. I have been working on projects in the evenings before bed and I am loving it. When I saw that the dare was to scrap something you love and not a person I knew it was perfect for my newly refound habit. And to use pink and red- well hotdog! Check out the other pages on the blog- I loved the page about chocolate- ahh  that's another one close to my heart. What is it about women and chocolate?
